Why won’t my video upload?
There could be a few reasons why your video won’t upload. We suggest you:
- Double check your internet connection – if you’re uploading large files, being connected to WIFI will help with upload speed.
- Make sure your video is in the right format and doesn’t exceed the file size limit.
- Make sure your video doesn't have any viruses. Our site will detect when a video is corrupt or has a virus, which may prevent your video from uploading.
If you’ve checked everything and can’t figure out why it’s still not uploading, you can get in touch with our Customer Support team via our helpdesk chat, over the phone on (03) 9830 0190, or via email at support@thefield.jobs.
My video/audio says “this file is no longer available” – what do I do?
To keep the information of our users safe, our site will detect when a file is corrupt or has a virus, and will remove that file from the platform before it can cause any issues. If your file has been removed for this reason, you will likely need to fix or replace it.
I’ve successfully uploaded a video/audio file – why hasn’t it appeared?
There are a few reasons why this could be. Most likely, our platform needs some time to check your file for viruses and make sure it’s all uploaded correctly. If you wait for a few minutes and it still hasn’t appeared, try logging out and back in. If your video is still missing, you can try to re-upload the file, or get in touch with our Customer Support team, who are there to help you problem-solve.
How do I add captions to my videos?
No need, we will add captions for you! the Field site will auto-caption all video files, and provide transcripts for all audio files so they are accessible for as many people as possible.
The captions on my video are wrong – how do I change them?
If you find any issues with your auto-captions or transcripts, we can fix them for you. Get in touch with our Customer Support team at support@thefield.jobs and let them know:
- Video title: what is your video called?
- Location: where does your video appear on your profile, job ad or job application?
- Timing - where does the caption error occur? (eg. 1min 24secs)
- Details - what is the caption error?
- Outcome - what do you want the caption to be? (our team will copy this exactly, so make sure to check spelling and grammar).
Can I remove video captions or transcripts?
As access to information is key to the accessibility of the Field, users aren't able to remove auto-captioning from videos, or transcripts from audio files. If your captions or transcript need editing, our Customer Support team can adjust them for you.
It says my file size is too big, what do I do?
We have limits on file sizes so we can keep the site working quickly, and connect you with opportunities faster. If your file size is too big, you’ll need to upload a smaller one to fit these limits.
Why am I asked to add Alt Text when uploading photos?
One of our key priorities at the Field is accessibility. Images can be great additions to profiles, job ads and applications, however it’s important that everyone can access the information these images provide. Alternative text (or Alt Text) describes images in words to assist users who are blind or have low vision to understand the content of the image and its relationship to the surrounding text. By adding Alt Text to your images, you help keep our site accessible and inclusive.
You can find more information about Alt Text here.
